Welcome to Time Off Request! Here are some easy steps on how to get started based on your level of experience with Smart Apps.
If You're New to Smart Apps, Start Here:
- First, you'll need to add your employees. There are three convenient ways to do this:
- Directly from your Time Off Request app, use the quick add feature to add one employee at a time using their basic information.
- If you'd like to add employees and detailed personnel information, you can do this in the Employee Records app. Here's how to add an employee one at a time.
- If you'd like to add many employees at once, you can import them easily in the Employee Records app.
- Continue with the next steps below.
If You've Previously Loaded Employees but Have Not Enabled Self-Service, Start Here:
It's easy to grant your employees Self-Service Permissions so they can create their own accounts and submit their time off requests from them. Please note, this can only be done from the Employee Records app.
- Please review this article for details on how to enable employee self-service.
- Continue with the next steps below.
If Your Employees Are Loaded and Using Self-Service, Start Here:
Smart Apps provides you with the flexibility to choose which employees have access to certain apps. If your employees are already using Smart Apps and you'd like them to be able to request time off, you just need to grant them access to the Time Off Request app. This is done on the same Self-Service tab inside the Employee Records app.
- Go to the Employee Records app and click on the Self-Service tab.
- Under the Permissions section, click on the Permission Group for Time Off Request.
- Click the down caret to change the employee's access from "No Access" to the permission group of your choice.
- The next time your employee logs in to their Smart Apps account, they will see the Time Off Request app icon on the left navigation bar and be able to submit time off requests.
- When done, click on the Save button.
