On January 11, 2018, the IRS released updated W-4 Withholding Tables, which show the new rates employees should use when first completing or updating Form W-4. Withholding Tables identify the amount of withholdings an employer must withhold from an employee's paycheck based on the employee's number of dependents. Employers should begin using the new rates as soon as possible but no later than February 15, 2018.
As always, HRdirect Smart Apps customers receive ongoing updates ensuring compliance with the ever-evolving federal and state requirements. With this latest release from the IRS, we have updated the I-9 & W-4 app with these new tables. The new W-4 Withholding Tables are accessible to the employee and employer when the W-4 form is being completed. They are also accessible from the Resources page within the I-9 & W-4 app.
If you don't have the I-9 & W-4 app, you can still review the new W-4 Withholding Tables from your Employee Records app. In the Employee Profile, go to the Time & Pay tab and view the W-4 Details section. We've added a "W-4 Withholding Tables" button that will quickly take you to the latest information from the IRS.
