The Hawaii Job Application has been updated to be in compliance with a new law banning employers from asking about salary history. Therefore, the salary history question has been removed from the Job Application Smart App for customers in Hawaii.
On Thursday, July 5, Hawaii Governor signed into law, a salary history ban – prohibiting prospective employers from requesting or considering a job applicant’s wage or salary history as part of an employment application process or compensation offer.
Hawaii now becomes the 7th state to adopt the salary history ban. The law is intended to help close the pay gap between men and women. Hawaii’s ban on salary history takes effect on January 1, 2019.
In order to make sure our customers are in full compliance, we recommend that all current paper job applications should be discarded, and new, updated versions printed from the Resources tab in the app.
